Please be advised that the Central Bank of China agrees with your proposal that an 
arriving passenger be permitted to carry an amount of New Taiwan Dollars through 
the Customs, not to be considered part of the prescribed ceiling amount, if the NT 
Dollars are obtained at a currency exchange counter or withdrawn from an automatic 
teller machine (ATM) in the restricted areas of an airport prior to passing through 
the Customs, and that the passenger makes a declaration to the Customs and presents 
the related foreign exchange memo issued by the bank counter or the transaction 
records of the ATM (along with the ATM card as evidence).
Explanations:
1.This is a response to the letter from the Ministry of Finance, No. Tai Tsai Quan 
09800035380 dated on February 13, 2009.
2.The foreign exchange memos or transaction records referred to in the Subject 
above shall be limited to those issued after the arrival of the flight taken by the 
passenger in question.
