This is in response to your letter reporting cases of practical difficulties in obtaining from borrowers the required supporting document issued by villiage or district head for proof of financial predicament, upon their application for an extension of loan term to thrity (30) years under the Preferential Housing Loan Program.
1.This letter is in response to your letter Ref. No. Zong-Ge-Jheng-Fang-Zi- No.0970008178B dated March 14, 2008 and is based on a letter from the Construction and Planning Agency, Ministry of the Interior, Ref. No. Ying-Shu-Zhai-Zi-No.0970016331 dated April 2,2008. A copy of the latter is enclosed herewith.
2.The current requirements for borrowers applying for an extension of amortization period to thrity (30) years under the Preferential Housing Loan Program include the submission of a supporting document issued by respective villiage or district head that sufficient to prove his financial predicament, and a statement of income and expenses. However, if it is difficult for the borrowers to obtain such documents, other documents issued by the government sufficiently proving their financial difficulties (e.g. certificate of the low-income, or certificate of subsidy for the low and middle income) may be acceptable.
